Visuals tell stories about your brand.
Make sure they say what you mean. Our brains are wired to desire what I like to call “happy chemicals”.
We are drawn to visuals, including brands, because of how they speak to us on a subconscious level.

I’m Liina, owner and creative director of Liina & Co.
I was born and raised in a small, hardworking mining town in northern Minnesota. After getting my BFA with concentration in Graphic Design next door in the dairy state of Wisconsin I made my new home in Minneapolis – Saint Paul. I love this city filled with bikes, dogs, restaurants, and a gazillion like-minded creative entrepreneurs following their passions.
I have over 23 years of professional design experience in everything graphic design related. My passion is to find the heart and soul of a brand, while making the branding process fun.
Whether it’s a totally new brand or a re-branding, I’d love to help you level up.
A new kind of agency
I have built what I call a ‘virtual agency.’ I bring together teams when needed. I have a wonderful, skilled set of independent pros I can include in your project as needed, including:
• Branding & logo design
• Website development
• Content writing
• Interior design and mural creation
• Photography
Let's get social
small-business friendly: You get agency-quality work, and only pay for the parts you actually need.

Andi
Design Assistant
Andi immigrated from Mexico to Michigan in 2013 at 16 years old. In 2016 they moved to Minnesota to study graphic design at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and graduated in December of 2020. They love typography, designing posters, and making publications. In their work they like to explore how type can be used as image and texture, and often uses their own writing to give depth to their art. In addition to designing, Andi enjoys relief printing, painting with watercolor, crocheting, and reading way too many books at once.
Andi joined Liina & Co in 2021 and provides design support and good vibes. They cheerfully handle many projects at once, from design to file preparation to client communications.

“The details are not the details.
They make the design.”
— Charles Eames (1907–1978)
Every brand needs a story.
Connect. Tell your story. Businesses are born out of good ideas, and always come with stories. Aspirational ones, funny ones, and even just ordinary ones. The reason this connects is simple: A story gives a less-than-human product (or a seemingly "dry" service) real,...
How can your small business stand out?
It's noisy out there. It's not anything new: Businesses, small and large, are in direct competition with each other, and it's becoming more and more difficult to tell from the outside who the better choice is. And there are more and more new businesses every year (or,...
A little Minnesota State Fair magic
There is something undeniably magical about the Minnesota State Fair. My first time at the fair was when I was 14, and then I missed a bunch of years until I began working in Minneapolis after college. Each year the fair is exactly the same, yet somehow the experience...
What’s your brand saying?
"I just need something I can put on a business card." When clients come to me, they often ask for "just a logo". The common thought seems to be that a logo, on its own, is what will make their business appear professional. And it does, but there's more to it. I spend...
Allina Hospice Benefit Theme
Care, honor, love, give. The annual gala is held in the spring each year. This year the gala benefits patients at the newly opened J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice. I was hired to give the benefit a fresh new look, and one they could use over the next few years and...
What the heck is a content management system?
A lot of my clients have asked me this question regarding websites. Think of a website being made of "layers". A website is built from HTML code. The design of a website displays content so it's user-friendly to the viewer. In a way, the design is like a skin, and the...
Connie Kauppi, Shiatsu & Thai Yoga Massage
It's all about energy (qi) I met Connie, a shiatsu and thai yoga masseuse, one bright and sunny morning in a coffee shop in St. Paul. Literally, we had to wear our sunglasses in the coffee shop. She had called me the previous day, exclaiming that she was sick and...
Keen Editions
A savvy new publishing company This client has what I love: A truly unique and distinct position in the market. What Keen Editions offers is editing and publishing help for authors who want to get published. Especially an author who doesn't want the hassle and...
The fun of experiencing your design
Last weekend was the Women Run the Cities, which I've been designing materials, t-shirts, ads, and a billboard for — for the past five years. Every year it's fun to experience the race. As the designer of the shirt, especially, it's fun to see them on actual bodies...
Useful Nostalgia
This made me smile — The Obsolete but Neat Laptop Case. Technology gets old so fast, shouldn't we pay tribute to those things we once gave our full admiration to? I think so. Someday there will be an iPhone screen printed on a canvas tote, and we'll all smile and...
